April 9, 2020 COLORADO GOVERNOR TEMPORARILY SUSPENDS SEVERANCE TAXESpdf
Due to the unprecedented impacts caused by COVID-19, Governor Polis signed Executive Order D 2020 033 suspending the filing and remittance of State severance taxes for a period of one month. The order temporarily suspends the requirements for filing State severance tax returns and estimated tax payments as well as quarterly declarations and payments for severance tax on all molybdenum ore in Colorado. The order also directs the Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Revenue to promulgate and issue emergency rules extending the State severance tax filing and payment deadlines as ordered. The order will expire thirty days from April 9, 2020 unless further extended by the Governor. Executive Order D 2020 033 may be read in its entirety in the attached document.
