On May 2, 2019, COGCC Hearing Manager Larsen announced the first Rulemaking Hearing to implement SB19-181.

On April 26, 2019, the Colorado Department of Natural Resources announced the appointments of three new members of Director Gibbs’ Executive Officer Team:

On April 19, 2019, the COGCC issued the Director’s draft Objective Criteria and a Guidance Document to address the COGCC’s implementation of SB19-181.

On April 16, 2019, Governor Polis signed SB19-181 into law and the legislation is now immediately effective.

On April 3, 2019, the Colorado Senate passed SB 19-181, which will become law once the Governor signs the bill.

On March 29, 2019 the Colorado House passed SB19-181 with the following 12 amendments:

SB19-181 was introduced in the House on March 14, 2019 and it will be assigned to the following three House Committees: Energy & Environment, Finance, and Appropriations.

At the COGCC Hearing on March 11, 2019, Director Robbins presented the following Criteria that he is utilizing to hold and review Form 2 drilling permits and Form 2A oil and gas location permits:

SB19-181 passed through all 3 Senate Committee Hearings and will proceed to the House for 3 additional Committee hearings.

SB19-181 was heard in the Senate Transportation & Energy Committee on March 6, 2019 with 12 hours of testimony from both proponents and opponents.
