November 19, 2019 COGCC ANNOUNCES NEW HEALTH STUDY NOTIFICATION PROCESS
On November 19, 2019, the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission held its November Operator Meeting and announced a new Guidance entitled “Health Study Notification Process” in response to the CDPHE Health Study showing acute, short-term health impacts within 2,000’ of pre-production oil and gas operations. The COGCC announced that for any pending permits and new permits filed within 2,000’ of a Building Unit, the operator must provide detailed written Notice to all occupants within 2,000’ with information on the CDPHE Health Study and the proposed development as a prerequisite to approval of a Form 2A. The receipt of the Notice must be acknowledged in writing by the recipient. More information on the CDPHE Health Study can be found on the COGCC website.
