Represented oil and gas operators in commission enforcement actions defending against alleged violations of administrative rules and regulations that resulted in six-figure fine reductions
Secured drilling and surface use permits from Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico state agencies, and over 20+ Colorado local governments for oil and gas operations
Negotiated and obtained Operator Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding with multiple local jurisdictions with land use regulations governing oil and gas operations
Examined title and prepared over 100+ drilling, division order and financing title opinions for over ten public and independent oil and gas operators in the Powder River Basin and DJ Basin
Successfully drafted and negotiated to execution hundreds of joint operating agreements, oil and gas leases, easements, rights-of-way, surface use agreements and purchase and sale agreements
Represented and conducted environmental and title due diligence review for oil and gas operators in purchase and sale transactions, exploration and development agreements, and areas of mutual interest agreements for land, mining and oil and gas assets
Represented and managed all aspects of international refining and pipeline company’s 110-mile interstate crude oil pipeline expansion project in Wyoming and Colorado, including federal, state, and local permitting, easement and rights-of-way acquisition, eminent domain issues, pipeline safety issues and operational matters
Represented independent oil and gas operators in litigation involving surface use and access and eminent domain issues
Represented oil and gas exploration and production company in the federal, state, and local permitting of a gas plant (CO2, methane and helium) and pipeline easements in the LaBarge Field of the Upper Green River Valley and Wyoming Range mountains
Represented the leading transportation and marketer of CO2 in North America with state and local permitting and environmental matters relating to the McElmo Dome in southwestern Colorado and enhanced oil recovery projects in Texas
Represented an oil and gas exploration company on transactional and title matters relating to CO2 storage project in Montana
Represented natural gas midstream company with constructing a natural gas gathering system, processing plant and natural gas liquids stub line serving Colorado and Wyoming on all aspects of the federal, state and local governmental agencies with regulatory control over the project
