August 11, 2020 WOGCC POLICY UPDATE – PROTEST POLICY FOR APPLICATION FOR PERMIT TO DRILLpdf
At the August 11, 2020 Meeting of the Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (“Commission”), Commission Supervisor Mark Watson announced that given the current status of the industry and the implementation of the new APD Rule, he has updated several policies to address those impacts on the Commission hearings. The Protest Policy for Applications for Permit to Drill was updated on August 3, 2020. This is the 3rd iteration of this policy, rescinding the previous policies dated 7/11/2017 and 5/13/2019. This policy provides that given the implementation of the new APD rule in Chapter 3, Section 8, the Commission has seen a significant decrease in protested and filed APDs. As such, any protested APD will now be placed on the active docket (not the APD B Docket) in accordance with the Commission filing timeline. Further, any protested APDs on the B Docket, under the previous policy, will remain there indefinitely until requested to the Active Docket or the APD expires. The updated policy is attached here.
