March 26, 2020 WYOMING SUPREME COURT ISSUES EMERGENCY ORDER ON SIGNING AND COURT FILINGS

The Wyoming Supreme Court has issued an Emergency Order on its own motion, effective March 26, 2020, adopting procedures for remote administration of oaths and witnesses, verification of guilty pleas, and for paper filings. Under the Order, parties who do not stipulate to remote depositions will be charged with costs and fees for any motion arising from a failure to stipulate, unless the non-stipulating party can demonstrate the failure to stipulate was made in good faith. The Order further allows for non-notarized guilty pleas if certain requirements are met, witnesses to will signings through audio-visual means, and electronic filings without the submission of original paper copies except for initial pleadings. The Order will be reviewed on or before April 10, 2020 and will be extended or vacated at that time, as appropriate. The full text of the Order is available in the pdf attachment and on the State of Wyoming website:
